Car washes and detailing
A digital loyalty card for your car wash
At a car wash, an exterior wash and a detailing service may need different rules. Iterum’s described flow uses a web card opened from a QR code or link: the owner chooses eligible visits, a stamp target and a reward; authorised staff scans the customer’s card to confirm a stamp. Customers do not need a dedicated app, but an internet connection is required.
Decide which completed services qualify
An exterior wash, a full service and detailing do not necessarily have the same cost. Before activating a card, decide which visits qualify and whether each visit earns one stamp. These examples help shape your rule; the system does not detect service types automatically.
Explain the rule to attendants and customers. After an eligible service, the customer shows their web card and authorised staff scans it to confirm the visit. Iterum does not read the wash type, amount paid or a machine’s completion signal.
| Service | Decision for the business | Limit to remember |
|---|---|---|
| Exterior wash | Which wash options are included | The service is not identified automatically |
| Full clean | Whether the same rule or a separate one applies | Staff confirms the stamp manually |
| Detailing | Whether it qualifies and under which target | The quoted amount is not read |
Staff confirms each stamp with a scan
Display a QR code or share a link for customers to open the card on their phones. During enrolment, customers see the privacy notice and accept the required checkbox; they do not install a dedicated car wash app. An internet connection is needed to open the card and record a stamp.
When a customer presents the card after an eligible visit, authorised staff scans it and confirms the stamp. Try the process with the attendants who will apply the rule: Iterum does not automatically receive a wash result from equipment, portals or a till.
Choose eligible services
State clearly which washes or treatments earn a stamp.
Set a target and reward
Check the reward’s actual cost and explain its terms before enrolment.
Try the scan
Have staff confirm an eligible visit using the customer’s web card.
Check reward cost before setting the target
If qualifying services have different costs, check that the rule remains sustainable for higher-cost cases. The reward-cost calculator divides the cost you enter by the visits required; it does not estimate new bookings, washes or revenue.
See the illustrative car wash card design. The name, stamps and reward are sample data, not a car wash customer’s programme.
No connection to tills, bookings or wash equipment
This card records visits that staff confirms under the owner’s rule. It does not read receipts or quotes, distinguish wash packages automatically, or connect to booking portals, payments, tills or wash equipment. Staff must recognise an eligible visit and have an internet connection to confirm it.
