KlipCard alternative: compare prices, Wallet, staff and card types

KlipCard and Iterum both put the loyalty card on the customer’s phone without making them download an app, but they part ways on price, card types and counter tools. The table reports what the official pages said on 30 October 2026; check the current KlipCard prices before you choose.

We did not download the KlipCard app or create an account: the information comes from the public pages listed in the sources at the bottom and from the Iterum pricing page.

How much does KlipCard cost in 2026, and how much does Iterum?

KlipCard costs less at every level: the Free plan is enough to try it with 3 customers, Starter costs €9.90 a month and Classic, with unlimited customers, €14.90 a month excluding VAT. These are Early Bird prices for web and Android, with yearly billing at €99 and €149; the pricing page pairs them with the line «prezzo bloccato per sempre» (price locked for good) and the home page presents the offer as «150 posti» (150 places).

On iPhone and iPad the subscription is taken out in the app at App Store prices, €12.99 and €17.99 a month, with tax handled by Apple. The struck-through price next to the Early Bird is not the same everywhere: €14.90 and €24.90 a month on the home page, €12.99 and €17.99 on the pricing page. On 30 October KlipCard’s pages were identical to the ones read on 12 October: the price list has not changed.

Iterum bills the yearly plan as 10 monthly payments for 12 months (Base: €299.90 a year plus VAT). Watch the wording: for Iterum an «active card» is a loyalty programme, while KlipCard generates a card for each customer, so compare the customer limits instead. The cost of the reward is estimated separately with the loyalty card reward calculator; other services are compared on the page about how much a loyalty card costs.

What you spend in the first year with KlipCard or Iterum: 4 cases

KlipCard costs less in the first three cases; in the fourth, with two locations, it does not yet publish a plan to compare. The biggest gap is prepaid packages: KlipCard includes them on every plan, Iterum from Pro.

When KlipCard may be the better choice

KlipCard is the cheaper choice if you have few customers or want to start spending as little as possible: the Free plan lets you try it with 3 real customers without entering a payment card, and on yearly billing Classic, with unlimited customers, costs €149 excluding VAT, about half of Iterum Base’s €299.90. According to the pricing page, a business that takes the Early Bird keeps that price.

It also offers more card types on every plan. Gift card credit, cumulative spend and cashback suit businesses that sell gift vouchers or whose receipts vary a lot, and Iterum does not have them; prepaid bundles are on every KlipCard plan, on Iterum only from Pro. The reward coupon goes out by email on its own, the QR flyer is generated in the app and Classic includes 50 Wallet push notifications a month. If you need these features, KlipCard already has them.

Iterum as a KlipCard alternative: where it differs

Iterum (by FIDUS) is built for a counter with several people. Every plan includes accounts for the whole team, with roles and permissions and no user limit, and the «Al banco» counter app opens in the browser of a phone, tablet or computer: nothing has to be installed on the shop’s devices. Staff scan the card’s QR code or, if the camera won’t read it, type its code.

It asks the customer for very little: from the phone’s browser the card is created at once, with no email required, and customers who don’t save it to their Wallet use it in the browser. Base also includes automations such as «Buon compleanno» (happy birthday) and «Ci manchi» (we miss you) to win back lost customers, the refer-a-friend programme, which the KlipCard pages we read do not describe, and the option to add more locations to the same account today.

In return it costs more, has no free version, offers stamps, points and packages instead of six card types, with packages only from Pro, and always needs a connection to sign customers up and stamp cards. The steps, from the QR code to the reward, are described in how Iterum works.

Stamps, spend, prepaid or cashback: which one does your business need?

The card type matters more than the provider. For a café or a regular breakfast, stamps are enough: one stamp per visit and a reward at the threshold, as the guide to the loyalty card for cafés explains. If receipts vary a lot, as in a shop, you need points or cumulative spend: the two approaches are compared in the stamps or points guide.

Prepaid packages and gift cards are something else: the customer pays in advance and then uses up a credit, and the advance payment has to be recorded correctly, so ask your accountant how. From the Pro plan Iterum handles prepaid packages, with an optional expiry counted in months from the sale: at a beauty salon the client pays for 10 sessions at the counter as usual and staff take one off at each visit. The guide to the prepaid punch card explains when it beats a loyalty card. Gift cards and euro credit, on the other hand, are not something Iterum handles.

An app to install or a browser station: what changes for staff?

With KlipCard the business installs the app from the App Store or Google Play and uses it to log in and for day-to-day management, although sign-up can also be done on the website; the terms set the number of devices per account, from 1 to 5 depending on the plan, synced on the same account. It is a simple set-up if two or three of you work the counter with dedicated phones.

With Iterum each team member logs in with their own account, from a phone or the till computer, and the owner decides roles and permissions. That matters when there are shifts, seasonal staff or a colleague who leaves: with personal accounts nobody has to share a single password. Before you choose, try a real shift with two people and two devices.

KlipCard reviews: what can be checked today

Anyone looking for KlipCard reviews mostly finds the vendor’s own pages. The business app is on the Italian App Store listing with version 2.1.13 of 27 August 2026, and on 30 October it did not yet have any ratings to show. That is not a verdict on the product: it is one more reason to test it at the counter before moving your customers onto it.

The same standard applies to Iterum, which publishes no customer reviews on these pages. The most useful test is a normal shift, with a customer’s phone and the phone of whoever stamps the cards.

How to switch from KlipCard to Iterum without losing customers

Iterum’s public pages do not describe an automatic import from other services, so the switch is organised at the counter. KlipCard lists data export on every plan and customer CSV export on Classic: download the list before you cancel, so you know who had an open card.

  • Pick a start date and accept both cards for a few weeks.
  • Customers with an open KlipCard card finish it there up to the reward; from their next visit they use the Iterum card, which they join from the QR code at the counter.
  • Explain the change with one sentence at the till and a sign next to the QR code.
  • Cancel KlipCard only once the open cards are closed. Under its refund policy, access to paid plans stays active until the end of the period already paid, and the profile can then go back to the Free plan.

Is there a free KlipCard alternative?

The closest free option is KlipCard itself: the Free plan does not expire, but it stops at 3 customers, 10 active cards and one device, so it is for trying the service rather than running a programme. Other services with a free version are listed, with sources, in the guide to digital loyalty cards in 2026 and on the page about the free digital loyalty card.

Iterum has no permanent free plan. It offers a 7-day free trial: you set up the card, threshold and reward, then enter a payment card to start the trial and pay €0 today.

5 checks before you choose

They apply to KlipCard, to Iterum and to any other service: do them during a normal shift, not when the shop is empty.

  1. Count customers, people and locations

Estimate how many customers you will have in 6 months, how many people will stamp cards and in how many locations: that decides whether the Free plan, Starter with 15 customers, Classic or an Iterum plan with staff accounts is enough.

  2. Sign up a real customer

Time the seconds from the QR code to the first stamp and look at what details you ask for: an email lets you send rewards and messages, but it is one more piece of data to protect and to cover in the loyalty card privacy notice.

  3. Stamp with two people

Have two team members stamp cards on two devices and check what the owner sees in the dashboard.

  4. Read the offer to the end

Early Bird or list price, VAT, payment channel (Stripe or App Store), renewal, refund and cancellation.

  5. Export your test customers

So you know what you take with you if you ever change provider; on KlipCard the customer CSV export is on Classic.

Sources and last check

Last checked: 30 October 2026. Official KlipCard sources: home page and FAQ, pricing, getting started, support, terms of service (version 1.1, May 2026), refund policy (July 2026) and the App Store listing. Iterum sources: pricing, how it works and free trial.

First checked on 12 October 2026, reviewed on 30 October: KlipCard’s pages were identical, so its prices and terms have not changed. The Iterum side has: the previous version said every customer ticks the privacy notice box when joining, whereas from the phone’s browser the card is created at once and the box only appears inside another app or on a computer. KlipCard’s pages do not all describe the trial and the guarantee the same way: the home and pricing pages promise a refund within 30 days, the terms and refund policy within 14 days of the first charge. Ask KlipCard which terms apply. Prices and features can change: check them again before you sign up. Iterum is a service of FIDUS S.R.L. and has no relationship with KlipCard. On 4 November 2026 the Iterum part was updated again: since 3 November 2026 the privacy-notice box no longer appears and, by creating or adding the card, the customer accepts the card Terms and confirms they have read the privacy notice.

Frequently asked questions

Is KlipCard free?
There is a Free plan at €0 with no end date, with 3 customers, 10 active cards and one device. Beyond that you need Starter, from €9.90 a month, or Classic, from €14.90 a month, excluding VAT and at Early Bird prices for web and Android, according to the pages checked on 30 October 2026.

Does KlipCard have a 14-day trial?
Its pages do not all say the same thing. The home and support pages mention a 14-day trial, with no card according to the home page; the terms and refund policy say the trial is the Free plan and that on Stripe you get a full refund within 14 days of the first charge. The Iterum trial lasts 7 days, with a payment card at activation.
Do KlipCard customers have to download an app?
No. According to KlipCard only the business installs the app; the customer receives the card by email or saves it to Google Wallet or Apple Wallet. With Iterum the customer downloads nothing either, and staff stamp cards from the browser, with no app to install.
Does KlipCard work with several employees and locations?
The terms set the devices per account: 1 on Free, 3 on Starter and 5 on Classic; the pages we read do not mention separate accounts for employees, and multi-location is marked «in arrivo» (coming soon). Iterum includes accounts for the whole team on every plan, and each extra location costs the owner’s plan with a 20% discount.
Does Iterum have prepaid packages, gift cards or cashback like KlipCard?
Prepaid packages yes, from the Pro plan: you create, for example, a 10-session package, with an expiry if you want one, the customer pays at the counter as usual and staff take one session off the Wallet card at each visit. Cashback no, and no gift cards or euro credit either: if you need them, KlipCard already offers them.
